Quantitative Descriptive Analysis (QDA) provides the “why” in product research. It provides an essential set of analytical data that allows us to understand and statistically model consumers’ reactions to product changes. This methodology enables companies to fingerprint a product’s sensory experience, track how a product might change throughout the distribution channels, understand production variation, map a product versus the competition, substantiate sensory claims, etc. There are many applications of QDA data!

Dragonfly SCI’s Culinary QDA panel is composed of assessors with a culinary background and they are immersed in the food culture of the San Francisco Bay area. All panel members are qualified to participate based on best sensory practices following Stone et al., authors of Sensory Evaluation Practices, Fifth Edition 2021 (Elsevier/Academic Press). In addition, assessors scoring behaviors are monitored after each research study. This panel is considered high functioning as determined by established descriptive analysis panel performance metrics including language development, definition creation, scale usage, and attribute discrimination. Tenure on the panel ranges from 3 to 15 years of service.

Our Dragonfly SCI team includes multiple experts in the QDA methodology, each with over 30 years of experience. We can help you create panels in your location or you can contract with us for our panels. Ask us if you think it may help you in your business!
